Sapphire Clarity Matrix™: Here’s How It Works
The Target
The Sapphire Clarity Matrix™ is a self-assessment split into four quadrants. Each represents a talent and interest level. You will identify an Intended Outcome– an overarching goal– that your responses will relate to. You will break down the actions you do daily, weekly, and monthly in accordance with that goal and categorize them. You will match them with a method– what actions you take and skills you use to achieve these tasks.
The Facets
The quadrants you’ll categorize tasks and actions into are as follows.
BRILLIANCE:
I’m proficient in this area. Doing these things brings me joy.
Time spent working in your Brilliance makes you happier and more productive. You enjoy it, you are naturally wired to do it, you feel energized about it, and you’re good at it!
SHINY OBJECTS:
I’m practicing in this area, and it brings me joy.
With practice comes clarity. By refining skills, interests, and tasks in this area, you may discover hidden talents or weed out distractions. These pursuits may not be core competencies, but should be explored whenever you get the chance. However, be careful not to derail your overall goals by getting too caught up here!
MONOTONE:
I’m proficient, but this is boring.
Others may not do these tasks as well as you but you don’t enjoy doing it yourself. Spending time here, or training others in the associated skills, may be tedious, even if you are an expert. You find yourself wanting to hand these tasks off, but you worry that doing so may be time consuming, stressful, or counterproductive– a common mental block that prevents efficient delegation.
SHATTERED:
I’m practicing, but this drains me.
